Dosing
Charging a new pool.
A first fill takes the full charge of mineral. The order of work matters more than the speed.
01
Balance first
Set pH and alkalinity before mineral goes in. A fresh fill often sits high on calcium hardness; correct that first.
02
Confirm the volume
Use the builder's figure if you have it. Otherwise measure length, width and average depth and use the calculator.
03
Add across the deep end
Pump running, filter on circulate. Spread the flake across the surface rather than in one place.
04
Brush and run
Brush the floor once. Run the pump for eight hours so the mineral distributes evenly.
05
Test at 24 hours
Read magnesium and adjust with a smaller top-up if the level sits under target.
